On January 11, 2008 a number of mass media entities published information about alleged cessation of the work of the intellectual property protection system. In particular, it was alleged that effective from January 1, 2008 the Federal Service for intellectual property, patents and trademarks will have no power to make any decisions.
Rospatent`s Information Council announces that this information is misrepresenting. Rospatent will continue to receive and review applications for all types of industrial property and will continue to examine applications. Sittings of the Chamber of Patent Disputes will be held in regular manner. The schedule of the sittings is available on Rospatent`s website.
Rospatent`s Information Council also informs the public that actions of patent attorney Vadim Uskov, having disseminated inadequate rumours of cessation of intellectual property protection system, will be discussed at the meeting of Rospatent`s Appellation Commission.
Once the decision is made, the Commission's conclusions will be made public.

Other news of the day:Russia will win the British market not only with traditional vodka but sparkling wines as well. As RBC Daily got known, from December 2007 Soyuzplodoimport started to supply sample lots of Sovietskoye to Great Britain. For this purpose, the company increased its contractual production at Istok plant. At the first stage volumes of sales of wine will be small: as agreed with the local distributor Hermitage Collection Ltd. Soyuzplodoimport intends to sell about 4 thous. decalitres. However in the perspective the annual volume of sales will be about 10-11 thous. decalitres. Retail price of one bottle of Sovietskoye in Great Britain will be 4-5 sterling pounds. »»» |
